The noop queuing discipline

Parameters.
  None.

Classes.  The noop queuing discipline does not have classes.

Scheduling.  The noop queuing discipline has not have a scheduler.

Policing.  The noop queuing discipline drops all packets queued onto
it.

Rate limiting.  The noop queing discipline does not rate limit
traffic.

Classifier.  The noop queuing discipline does not classify packets.


Comments.

- The noop queuing discipline is used internally by the traffic control
  engine.  It is not possible to manually assign the noop queuing
  discpline to a device or class.

- The noop queuing discipline is assigned to all devices when they are
  created and the device's link state (as printed by "ip link list")
  is down.  When the link state is changed to up the noop queuing
  discpline, if still present, is replaced by a pfifo_fast or noqueue
  queuing discipline.

- Yes, the noop queuing discipline really does drop, delete and discard
  all packets queued onto it.
